About Me — Qui je suis

My Background

I was born in a refugee camp in northern Thailand, and my family later made a bold journey to Canada, becoming among the first Lao-Thai immigrant families to settle there. Growing up in Montreal, I developed a strong appreciation for communication, culture, and diversity. I joined the Canadian Armed Forces as an artillery gunner and later served as a Meteorological Technician. Since then, I have worked as a weather forecaster with the Royal Canadian Air Force, supporting missions at home and abroad—from the deserts of Africa to the frozen landscapes of Alaska.

Outside of my military career, I pursue personal passions such as travel, antiques, music, and history. I am married to my wonderful wife, Christine, and together we enjoy exploring new places and adventures. My journey has been one of duty, growth, and discovery—and it continues today.

Ce Qui M'a Façonné

Je suis né dans un camp de réfugiés dans le nord de la Thaïlande. Ma famille a entrepris un périple audacieux pour s'installer au Canada, devenant ainsi l'une des premières familles immigrants lao-thaïlandaises à s'y établir. Grandi à Montréal, j'ai développé un profond attachement à la communication, à la culture et à la diversité. J'ai rejoint les Forces armées canadiennes comme artilleur, puis j'ai servi comme technicien en météorologie. Depuis, je travaille comme prévisionniste météo au sein de l'Aviation royale canadienne—appuyant des missions allant des déserts d'Afrique aux étendues glacées de l'Alaska.

En dehors de ma carrière militaire, je cultive mes passions : les voyages, les antiquités, la musique et l'histoire. Je suis marié à ma merveilleuse épouse, Christine, et ensemble nous aimons découvrir de nouveaux horizons et vivre des aventures.

Mon parcours a été marqué par le devoir, la croissance et la découverte—et il se poursuit encore aujourd'hui.

My writing stems from a desire to make sense of my own journey and share the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I began writing to help others navigate the challenges of life, particularly around managing money, planning for the future, and building resilience. My goal is to empower readers with practical insights drawn from real experience, presented in a way that is clear, relatable, and motivating. Writing also allows me to give back to the community—helping others gain knowledge, confidence, and opportunity is my way of paying it forward.
